Big interest in David Butler event

A really good turnout for Saturday's World Book Day event in Woodbine Books heard illustrator David Butler talk about the process of producing comic books for both children and adult markets, writes Brian Byrne.

The attendance included adults and children, and because of the age mix, David concentrated on discussing his books, the process of producing them and the historical events/ mythology they are based on.

"It was really interesting," says Dawn Behan of Woodbine Books. "He has also promised to come back and do a workshop for those who are more interested in the illustration side of things."

David, whose illustrations for 'Shackleton: the Voage of the James Caird.' is an example of bringing historical adventure to life on the printed page, is also organising a one-day ComicCon event in Newbridge Town Hall as part of JuneFest.

More details of both events when they are available. (Pics: Woodbine.)
