World Storytelling Day next week
When all the festivities of the coming weekend are over, a pleasant way to wind down might be to go along to An Tearmann on Wednesday 20 March for World Storytelling Day, writes Brian Byrne.
The Triple Spiral Storytellers, led by Tim Ditchburn, are hosting a 'Story Swap' in the cafe from 7pm.
"This is a night for oral storytelling, so no reading or notes allowed – just pure story," Tim says. "There will be no theme but the stories will be limited to 10 minutes. This will be an opportunity for people to tell and also to just sit comfortably and join in the journey of the imagination. People wanting to practise their stories are also welcome."
Suitable for all ages, it is a free event, with tea and cakes provided. Doors open 6.45pm. More information from 087 2767669.
