Ivan selected to run again in Athy LEA

Cllr Ivan Keatley has been selected by Fine Gael to run again in the Athy LEA elections coming in May, writes Brian Byrne.

He is pictured here with Deputy Martin Heydon of Kildare South, and former Leader of the Fine Gael Party Alan Dukes, with the other candidate selected, Ciara O'Keeffe.

The selection meeting was in the Clanard Court Hotel, and Ivan was nominated by Rainsford Hendy and seconded by Catriona Dunne.

Ivan first served as a Councillor in the Naas LEA when part of Kilcullen was located there, nominated to replace Cllr Martin Heydon when he was elected to Dail Eireann in 2011. In 2014 he was reelected to the Council, this time in the Athy LEA.

Originally from Ballymount in Kilgowan, he lives in Old Kilcullen.
