A reminder that a Classical Concert featuring the
Stabat Mater by Giovanni Battista Pergolesi will be held in the Bridge Community's Artaban Hall this evening, Sunday 3 March,
writes Brian Byrne.
The performers will be Frolieb Tomsits-Stollwerck, Soprano, Vienna People’s Opera; Sabine Kogler, Alto, State Opera Vienna; Yonit Lea Kosovske, Organ, Ballina String Quartet, and the Vienna Choir. Admission is €15 with €12 concession, and the performance begins at 7.30pm.
Giovanni Battista Pergolesi was an Italian composer, violinist and organist. His best-known works include his Stabat Mater and the opera La serva padrona. His compositions include operas and sacred music. He died of tuberculosis at the very young age of 26.
