Evie selected as candidate for next local elections
Evie Sammon has been selected by Fine Gael members in Naas as one their candidates for the forthcoming local elections in the Naas Municipal District, writes Brian Byrne.
The Selection Convention was held recently in Lawlor’s Hotel.
Born and raised in Ballymore Eustace, she will be hoping to continue the work of Cllr Billy Hillis, who has represented the people of Ballymore and Naas and Kilcullen for most of more than two decades.
If elected, she won't be representing Kilcullen next time around, as the town is being moved into a realigned Newbridge-based MD as part of a redesign of local electoral areas. She has Kilcullen connections, as her late grand uncle Billy Sammon of Old Kilcullen delivered the post in Kilcullen for many years.
A profile of Evie Sammon is in the Diary last year can be read here.
She is pictured below with Kildare South TD Martin Heydon at the Selection Convention.
