Christmas Market swinging along

The Christmas Market is now well under way, with a good buzz which was kickstarted by the arrival a while ago of the Patrician School Band, writes Brian Byrne.

The stands are all up (albeit occasionally having to be held down in sudden gusty squalls), and the square is filled with music and the smells of food from a range of local providers.

There's lots of ideas for Christmas gift, including a range of home-made soaps and similar from a Cross and Passion TY business.

And Santa is very busy in his grotto in the Heritage Centre.

Also for the young and young at heart, there are the three performances of 'Elf' in the Town Hall, which took place at 12.30pm, 2pm and 3.30pm.

And the big switch on of the Christmas lights will be at 5pm, preceded by a spirited performance from the Kilcullen Gospel Choir.

Something for everyone ...
Earlier it wasn't the nicest morning to be setting up the Christmas Market, but  Kilcullen businesspeople are hardy souls, so a little drizzle wasn't getting in their way as they prepared their stalls.
