Contract agreed for Post Office

The Diary understands that the contract for running Kilcullen Post Office has been awarded to Derek Walsh, owner of the Eurospar business in the town where the facility is located, writes Brian Byrne.

Noeleen O'Neill, who has run the business for the last 12 years, is retiring at the end of January, when the contracts are expected to have been finalised.

The Kilcullen Post Office was previously operated by the Shortt family, across the road from the current location in the Eurospar supermarket. They retired in January 2006, and the business was relocated in August of that year.

It was refurbished and extended in November 2013.
