'A shot in the arm' for education in the Kilcullen area is how Deputy Martin Heydon describes the recent good news of a schedule for an 'extension of significance' granted to Cross & Passion Kilcullen, writes Brian Byrne.

He says the capacity increase will meet the demographic demands for the medium term future from feeder schools in Kilcullen, Halverstown, Ballyshannon and Crookstown.
