Big week for Calverstown teen actor
Local teen actor Susie Power is in Galway this weekend for premiere of two films she has parts in, writes Brian Byrne. The screenings are part of the Galway Film Fleadh.
One is 'Captain Morten and the Spider Queen', in which the 14-year-old plays the leading female role of Eliza, amongst a cast which includes Brendan Gleeson. The second is a short film, 'Procession'. Both are being screened in the Town Hall Theatre, Galway, tomorrow and Sunday.
Also this week Susie' acting career received another uptick with the airing of 'Bacca's Bunch', a series on Nick Junior Animation which aired in the UK, Ireland and the US. Susie plays Sylvia the Fox, one of the leading characters in the production.
Susie, from Calverstown, is best known in Ireland for playing Eleanor Daly on RTE’s 'Fair City' and as the title character in CBBC/Jam Media’s 'Little Roy' which was recently nominated for Best Animation at the 2018 IFTA Gala TV Awards.
