Rethink on bug hotel location
The location for the proposed Bug Hotel came up for discussion at the recent meeting of Kilcullen Community Action, writes Brian Byrne.
Ray Kelly said the original suggested location on Hillside was not really suitable as cars park close to the site. The ‘Hotel’ is part of KCA’s environmental activity in relation to the National Tidy Towns Competition.
The Valley Park was suggested as a suitable alternative area, and in the discussion the notion of having some Primary School classes involved in setting it up was proposed.
Noel Clare said he was also working on the idea of inviting CPC Transition Year students to be involved in environmental initiatives in the Valley, such as the provision and monitoring of bat boxes.
