How not to waste food evening
An evening to learn how not to waste food will be held at the Kalbarri Cookery School, Carnalway, on Monday 16 May, writes Brian Byrne.
The event — ‘Taste it, don’t Waste it’ — has been organised in conjunction with Kilcullen Tidy Towns (KCA) to raise awareness in the community about the issue of food waste.
Almost a third of food bought in Ireland ends up in the bin, and KCA has decided to highlight positive actions that can be taken on an individual level to tackle the problem.
Siobhain Murphy from Kalbarri Cookery School will have some useful hints available on the night that will help reduce food waste and show you possible ways to re-taste food and save money.
The evening will run from 7.30-9.30pm, and attendance costs just €5. There’s a limit of 40 participants. Booking is essential: text requests to 087 1732287.
