Damian's bog oak pieces catching on
Anyone who stopped at local jewellery maker Damian Dunne’s stand at the Enterprise Town Expos last weekend might have spotted a new line there, writes Brian Byrne.
They are pendants of pieces of bog oak into which he inserts some of his beautifully crafted jewellery pieces.
“I just tried a couple on a whim, and they are going really well,” he told the Diary. “They are quite unusual, and very individual, and that seems to be the attraction.”
Damian has been making jewellery for 40 years, and has a shop/workshop in Newbridge, beside Specsavers.
He lives in Kilcullen, having moved from Tallaght to Kildare nearly a dozen years ago.
