Garda advice on Irish Water

The Garda Siochána have issued an advice that anyone purporting to be an employee of Irish Water to a householder should be asked for ID.

In a Text Alert this morning, the gardai say that any genuine staff of Irish Water will be clearly identifiable, will be happy to produce ID, and to explain why they are working in the area.

The alert says also that direct verification with Irish Water will be possible. They have asked that anything suspicious in this context should be notified to the Garda at Naas, 045 884300.
