Community Games county swimming
The Community Games county swimming finals took place over the weekend in K Leisure Athy, writes Papillon Rabbitte. The girls' events were held on Saturday and the boys were up on Sunday.
Swimming is probably one of the Community Games largest single sporting event, and judging by the calibre of those competing at county level is highly competitive.
Our own representatives did very well in their respective events with a few being very unlucky to not collect a medal.
Nadya Dunne competed in the U12 Freestyle and swam a smashing final taking home the gold medal and securing her place at the National finals.
In the Boys U8 Freestyle Sean Hoey and Tiernan Donnelly took the gold and silver in another exciting race.
Well done to all the competitors and best of luck to Sean and Nadya at the Nationals.
