Lugatanna Park can be taken in charge 'if residents wish'

Kildare County Council has advised that it will take in charge the Lugatanna Park estate in Ballyshannon if a majority of residents request it, writes Brian Byrne.

This was confirmed by the Council's Building & Development Control Section at yesterday's meeting of the Athy MD, in reply to a query by Cllr Ivan Keatley.

In response to a similar query on Carrighill Lower in Ballyshannon, the Council said this was one of 54 estates advertised for taking in charge in 2015, and that the Section is liaising with Irish Water with a view to completing the taking in charge in the New Year.

In relation to a request that Burrow Manor in Calverstown also be taken in charge, the Council says that the estate has not been completed to date, but the bond provider has engaged with the Section to agree a Site Resolution Plan to complete the development.
