'Brainless idiots' target gym project
A combined community effort to provide a gymnasium for the GAA and CPC at the GAA clubhouse is proceeding well, writes Brian Byrne.
But before it is even completed, 'brainless idiots' have been trying to break in to the prefab being used, donated by Scoil Bhride.
"We have a great town, where everyone works together to make our town better," a spokesman for the project says. "It's great to see people working together to provide services for our younger generation. The only low point is the brainless idiots who have attempted to break into the prefab since it was moved into position last weekend."
The building is empty, with nothing of any value inside. The GAA is asking everyone in the area to keep an eye out 'for these idiots who just want to cause damage as they are not the norm in our town'.
The project is being progressed with help from Anne Flanagan, Scoil Bhride; Martin and Jacinta Sully; Albert Keenan; John O'Brien; Alan and Fran Kenny; Mick Murphy; Mark Brophy; Tracey Brothers; Martin Murphy and Noel Clare.
