Kilcullen link to new fiction anthology
A reading event with Kildare authors featured in 'By the Light of the Moon', an anthology of new Irish fiction, will take place on Thursday 21 May at 7pm in Barker & Jones, Naas.
The three are Jeanne Beary, Ilona Blunden (a member of the Kilcullen Writing Group) and Valerie Ryan, and they will read extracts from their stories on the night. 'By the Light of the Moon' will be available to buy in Barker & Jones during the event and the authors will be available to sign copies afterwards.
Long-forgotten but dramatic events from history have inspired 14 short stories in this collection. Drawn by the authors’ imagination, these compelling stories reignite familiar historical themes once told through the satire of popular verse. Reinterpreted as an anthology, some tales are retold in their original setting while others are re-imagined and adapted for today's world.
