Shoebox appeal for homeless
The plight of those sleeping rough on Ireland's city streets has been starkly and tragically brought home this week with the death of a homeless man in Dublin.
With the winter weather now taking hold, J&A Shabby Chic on Hillcrest will give 10 percent of all gift sales towards buying items needed for the homeless this Christmas, and will also provide 20 filled shoe boxes to help the homeless.
For anyone who wants to help with the shoeboxes, please drop in warm adult male/female hats scarf, gloves, socks, shower gel, deodorant, toothbrush/toothpaste to the Shabby Chic store and they will make sure every item donated is delivered to this vital cause this Christmas.
The store will also be open for the next three Sundays to facilitate Christmas shoppers.
