Great finish for junior AFC teams

Our Under 15s played in the League Shield final on the May Bank holiday Monday and beat a fancied Kill side 5-1, writes Ray Kelly of Kilcullen AFC. A superb win for the team and managers. Man of the match award was awarded to Kilcullen player Niall Faherty.

The following Saturday the Under 15s were in action again in the Midland league Shield final against a highly fancied Carlow outfit New Oak Boys. Sadly, Kilcullen lost 2-1 after extra time but it was another great display by the lads given the atrocious weather conditions. Great achievement reaching both these finals.

Our under 11 Major team won friendly tournament in Kildare last week as part of the opening of a new playing pitch. The lads put in a fine display to win 7-3 against Kildare Town. Given the excitement after the game, the players and indeed managers must have felt like winning the FA Cup … check the Leinster leader this week for an update.

The club end of season BBQ and Blitz takes place at the All-weather area next Sunday from 2-4.30. End of season club awards and underage presentations from 3.30 on. The club’s AGM takes place on Thursday May 29th at 8 pm.
