Auction for Make A Wish
The local ladies of the Walk for Make A Wish are once again organising a fundraiser for the Foundation, writes Brian Byrne.
This time it's an Auction, with music provided by Harlequin, plenty of dancing and lots of prizes, and it's all happening at Joey's Hideout on April 26. Things get swinging at 9pm.
Those same ladies (pictured above) handed over a cheque for €1,637 last year, the proceeds of a fundraiser in the pub by The Friends of Toddlers & Wobblers.
It is just part of an ongoing effort by the local group, which has been fundraising for the Foundation for several years.
Make-A-Wish Ireland has one simple aim, to grant the wishes of children aged between 3 and 17 years living with a life-threatening medical condition.
The granted wish gives the children respite from their normal routines of hospitals, doctors and treatment.
Since its inception in 1992 Make-A-Wish in Ireland has granted wishes for over 1,300 children.
