Kilcullen Art competitors bring home 7 medals

A fantastic performance by our local children resulted in an impressive haul of seven county medals, including two gold in the U8 and U14 categories of the Community Games County Art Final, writes Papillon Rabbitte.

Congratulations and well done to all the wonderful artists who represented Kilcullen amongst the 350 from all over Kildare, at the event held in Newbridge.

The winners were U8 Girls:1st Ella Cullen, 3rd Grace O'Donnell; U8 Boys: 4th Tom Aspell; U14 Girls: 2nd Sydney Sheridan, 4th Fiona Equare; U14 Boys: 1st David Browne, 2nd Leon Cullen.

Ella Cullen and David Browne, who came first in their categories, will now go forward to represent Kildare at the National Finals in Athlone, which takes place from 15-17 August.

The next Community Games event is swimming and takes place on Monday 10th March in the Curragh Swimming Pool, registration from 6:15pm.
