The Kilcullen team — Miah Phelan, Ruth Murphy, Darren Gilheany, Grace Pearson, Laura Byrne and Ben Phelan — set up 'Ca$hino Royale'-themed bank and have worked hard over the last six months to bring banking to Cross and Passion and to the local primary school.
They visited the primary school to educate children on the benefits of banking and how to bank safely. They also visited the Junior Cert business classes and gave a presentation on how the school bank works and how students can benefit from being a part of the school bank.
The 'Ca$hino Royale' opens every Tuesday in the main foyer of the school and has had numerous promotions and fundraisers. They recently raised €112 for the local St Vincent de Paul through a bake sale and other promotions included a 'lonely hearts' raffle, Christmas raffle, Halloween raffle, poster competition, logo competition and many more.
The bank gives an opportunity to students to lodge their money, apply for savings plans, get Visa debit cards, set up online/mobile banking and many more great offers, all free of charge.
