Grand Canyon in Kilcullen (if you cycle!)

After a winter of being idled, your editor took his bike out for a first spring ride yesterday afternoon, writes Brian Byrne. Nothing strenuous, just a lap of Sunnyhill to see if man and machine were in working order (both are).

But definitely what's not in working order are the roads around Kilcullen, especially on the Main Street itself. The pic above shows the canyon (at least to a cyclist and those in smaller cars) which has to be negotiated at the traffic lights.

There are parts of the Sunnyhill Road too where the condition of the edges forces cyclists out towards the centre, with potential for catastrophe.

We have paid LPT, and there are local elections coming up. Councillors may have a reason to show that they work for us, at least in a very short window. Let's make it a window of opportunity.

BTW — It's councillors in the Naas Area who'll be looking for our votes later in the year.
