Street collection for lights

A Street Collection for funding towards the cost of the Christmas lights is being held on Saturday November 2, writes Brian Byrne.

The recent meeting of Kilcullen Community Action heard that the idea of a second collection in the year is an effort to minimise the contribution required from individual and- business donations.

The meeting also discussed options of saving costs on the lighting, against the background of having to replace wiring and equipment which was stolen after the systems were taken down earlier this year.

It was the second time equipment was stolen, this time the replacement cost being in the region of €1,000.
