Cleanup day decided for pitch path areas

A Cleanup Day for the pathway areas around the football fields on the Community Sports Centre campus is being arranged by Kilcullen Community Action, writes Brian Byrne.

The provisional date is Tuesday April 2, in the first week of the National Spring Clean initiative which runs from 1-30 April.

The Soccer and GAA Clubs are to be invited to take part in the effort which will extract debris dumped in the hedgerows of the area over many years.

As much of the material is cans and bottles, it will be sorted for recycling where possible, the latest meeting of KCA decided, and Kildare County Council is to be asked to facilitate the removal of the sorted rubbish.
