UNESCO bid for Dun Ailinne
A public meeting is being held tonight in the Town Hall to discuss the possibility of having Dun Ailinne as a UNESCO World Heritage site.
The site is being considered by the Department of the Environment for nomination to the prestigious list.
At present there are only two places in Ireland which are WH sites -- the Archaeological Ensemble of the Bend of the Boyne and Skellig Michael. Tonight's meeting is to give information on the list and the nomination process.
This is a meeting which could have profound implications for Kilcullen in world heritage terms. All are welcome.
