Good Leaving Cert for CPC students
Cross and Passion College students were generally 'very happy' with their Leaving Certificate results, according to the school's teachers.
"We had excellent results, even a 600 top mark, which isn't that common in most schools," assistant principal Noel Clare told the Diary this morning.
It all made for very happy students, and happy pictures, just two of which we show you today. Above, Louise Gilligan, Adeline Poufong, and Niamh Ryan and, below, Ciara Foyle, Orlath Denvir, and Katie Hughes all beam their satisfaction with the results of their efforts.
Apart from the majority who did the standard Leaving Cert, 13 CPC pupils studied for the more vocationally-aimed Leaving Certificate (Applied) exam and also did very well, according to Noel Clare.
"It was overall a better result than even last year," principal Paul Tyrell said, though adding that ups and downs were cyclical over time.
Pictured above are teachers happy with their students' results: Noel Clare, Assistant Principal; Cathleen Cotter, Terri O'Sullivan, Avrile Burke, Jude Harkin, and Paul Tyrell, Principal.
Nationally it was the 14th year in succession that there had been a better result, with 17.7 percent of students achieving 450 points or more. This compares to 15 percent in 2002.
