'Projection box' refurbished

The last remaining job to be done on the Town Hall has been undertaken over the past few days - the replacement of the old and 'eyesore' roof on the 'projection box'.

The inside of the box, formerly used to house the projectors when the premises was a cinema, is also being partitioned and slabbed to provide a more comfortable and secure environment for those operating the lighting and sound equipment in the theatre.

This writer remembers many times 'assisting' the projectionist as a very young lad, while he monitored his arcs. And I also regularly rewound the film reels for him.
