Kilcullen pair in mountain challenge

Two Kilcullen men are among a trio from Co Kildare who are currently taking part in the arduous Vauxhall Four Peaks Challenge - climbing the highest mountains in Scotland, England, Wales and Ireland in 48 hours!

They completed Ben Nevis in Scotland (above) yesterday, have already conquered Helvellyn in Cumbria early this morning and are on their way to climbing Snowdon in Wales this afternoon. Tomorrow it's Carrantuohill in Co Kerry.

The team is made up of Mark Phelan and Enda O'Neill from Kilcullen, and Joe Duane from Newbridge.

The event is all in aid of the Wooden Spoon charity - rugby's charity supporting disadvantaged children and young people.
