'Missing' seat found
The 'missing' seat referred to in our recent story been returned to Kilcullen Tidy Towns (KCA) following a check by the County Council Area Supervisor Noel Hughes.
According to KCA's Ray Kelly, there had been a misunderstanding between the Council and the Kilcullen body over just what had happened to the seat halfway up the hill, following its removal by the local authority.
He also clarified to the Diary the position about why it was decided not to replace the seat.
"The resident indicated that her preference would be that it was not replaced due to the the issues she had with anti-social behaviour by late night drinkers using it," he said. "I indicated that if this was the case it would be better to leave the area as it was -- seatless. It was a mutual agreement between the resident and myself not to put the seat in place."
