Postcard from Weifang

Kilcullen-born Garreth Byrne, above left, is currently teaching English at a school in Weifang, China. He has occasionally written in The Bridge about some of his observations about life in the city, which he finds very interesting and enjoyable.

On the basis that a picture is probably worth a thousand words, he recently sent these images which include Weifang folk park scenes and a shrine in a buddhist pagoda.

There are also scenes from the annual local Kite Festival — Weifang is known as the 'Kite Capital of China'.
