Shackleton Experience manager is from Brannockstown

The general manager of the new Shackleton Experience in Athy is a woman from Brannockstown with a strong international background in tourism and hospitality. 

Before her latest appointment, Aline Fitzgerald served as general manager of the GPO Museum on Dublin’s O’Connell Street, playing a key role in its successful launch in 2016. 

Previously, she worked at the Four Seasons Hotel in Chicago and later contributed to the establishment of the Four Seasons in Dublin and its subsequent transition to the InterContinental hotel brand. 

Her current position with the only centre in the world dedicated to the life and legacy of Kildare-born polar explorer Ernest Shackleton involves overseeing the redevelopment and daily operations of this world-class visitor experience.
