Martin Heydon is FG Director of Elections for presidency

Kildare South TD and Minister for Agriculture Martin Heydon has been appointed Director of Elections for the Fine Gael Presidential campaign.

Saying that he was honoured to have been appointed by Tanaiste Simon Harris, Minister Heydon said the party's candidate, Heather Humphreys, possesses all the qualities required for the Office of President – compassion, integrity and decency. 

“Having served at the highest levels of Government, Heather has the ability to connect with and represent all of our society,” he said, following her confirmation yesterday as the candidate. "I look forward to the campaign ahead and to supporting Heather as she puts herself forward to be our 10th President of Ireland.”
