Applegreen employees raise €2m for Barretstown
County Kildare-based charity Barretstown has benefited by more than €2 million since 2023 from the efforts of employees at Applegreen, writes Brian Byrne. The funds were raised by charity cycles from Belfast to the Barretstown campus outside Ballymore.
Breaching the €2 million level happened last month when 84 employees completed the most recent cycle, raising €200,000. The initial ride in 2023 was done by 18 cyclists, who raised €18,000.
Barretstown, founded in 1994 by the late Paul Newman, supports 27,000 children affected by cancer and other serious illnesses, and their families.
