Busy time for Jack Courtney

Aidan and Jack.

Young Kilcullen dartsman Jack Courtney and his Team Ireland colleague Aidan O'Hara were runners-up in the Europe Cup Boys Pairs competition held at Assen in the Netherlands, writes Brian Byrne. The pair were beaten by England's Mason Teese and Jack Nankervis in the final of the tournament on Saturday.
The competition was held at the De Bonte Wever hotel in the northern Netherlands city, also famous for the Dutch TT motorcycle race each year.
The previous day, Jack had ensured their place in the final with a winning double in a decider against Wales to seal a 9-8 win.
It has been a busy summer for the young Third Year CPC student who participated in the Junior Darts Corporation (JDC) Advanced Tour in mid-June in Coventry, UK, and just over a week ago was a finalist in the European & Irish Open in Tallaght, beaten by 15-year-old English player Lewis Cook.
In September he'll represent Ireland in Cardiff at the Nations Cup before taking his longest journey yet, to South Korea where he's on the Irish team for the WDF World Cup.
October will see Jack throwing in Budapest, Hungary, at the World Masters, and in November he'll once again be back with the Irish team at Gibraltar for the JDC World Championships.
