The passing of Jim Byrne

The Diary has learned of the death of James Joseph (Jim) Byrne of Gormanstown, and formerly Liffey View, Kilcullen, on 2 June 2025 in his 98th year, peacefully in the company of his loving family. 

Predeceased by his son Paul, brother John, sisters Lily and Kay, Jim is sadly missed by his loving wife Anne, sons Dan, Jim and Mark, daughter Catríona, daughters-in-law Martina, Eileen, Imelda and Aisling, grandchildren Ann-Marie, Mairead, Rachel, Andrea, James, Amy, Sarah and Lucy, nephews, nieces, extended family and a large circle of friends.

He will be reposing at his residence (R56 D322) on Wednesday 4 June from 4pm until 8pm with prayers at 7.30pm. Removal from there on Thursday morning to St Joseph's Church, Gormanstown arriving for 11 am Funeral Mass, which will be followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.
