Population figure on signs updated

The population figure on the approach road signs to Kilcullen have been updated by KCA, writes Brian Byrne. Previously 3,710, now 3,815, reflecting the figures from the most recent census in 2022.

That figure brought Kilcullen to be the 13th largest settlement in Co Kildare. The town more than doubled its population between 2002 and 2011.

In the 2022 census, 2,315 people were aged between 18 and 64 years, with 1,106 aged 0 to 17 years and 394 aged over 65 years.
