KCA Golf Classic prizes presented

Prizes were presented at The Spout last night following the very successful KCA fundraising golf classic at Rathsallagh Golf & Country Club, writes Brian Byrne. The weather stayed fine for those who got out in the morning, but even when rain closed in later, it was a very enjoyable event.
From 21 teams who teed off, the top five were Frank Berry's at 51.3, Martin Sheridan (52.5), Steve Kinneavy (56.1), Richie Galway (56.7),and Kevin Brady (56.9). Other wins were Bridget Ryan for Ladies Nearest to Pin, Aidan Casey for Men's Longest Drive, and Tom Keane for Men's Nearest to Pin.
The KCA organising committee for the event were Sorcha McCoy, Antoinette Buckley, Pat Mangan, and Jim Buckley. Key sponsors were Newbridge Silver, Burke's Pharmacy Group, Centra, and Britvic, along with widespread support for tee boxes by local businesses and friends of KCA.
Expressing her appreciation to all who had been involved, Antoinette Buckley said that the continuation of KCA-sponsored initiatives in Kilcullen couldn't happen without the 'amazing' support of Tidy Towns volunteers and very generous support from businesses, the community, and Kildare County Council through grants. Specifically, she mentioned the winning of a Silver Medal in the 2024 Supervalu Tidy Towns. "It is a wonderful achievement, and who knows, with such amazing support in our community, the gold medal is very much in sight!"
She repeated the standing invitation for anyone in the community who would like to help with the work of KCA to contact any member. "Even an hour or two to spare in a week is very much appreciated," she said.
