Naas Road lights back in operation

The street lights are back working on the Naas Road opposite Moanbane, writes Brian Byrne. The fault was first reported on 23 July 2024.
Repairs required the installation of a new cable and pillar. However, though this was done some time ago, there was further delay due to administration issues in paying the ESB to connect the system again.
Repairing the nationwide power outages from storm Éowyn in January was given as a contributory reason for the reconnection delay.
Last week, Cllr Tracey O'Dwyer was told by the ESB that the switch-on would happen by the end of the week. The councillor has on a number of occasions expressed her frustration at delays and difficulties in having public lights problems in the county solved.
