Funding secured for Kilcullen skatepark

Funding of €100,000 has been secured by Cllr Tracey O'Dwyer to provide a skatepark for young people in Kilcullen, writes Brian Byrne. The money will be provided through LPT and her request for it was supported by fellow councillors in the Kildare-Newbridge Municipal District.
"We are lucky in Kilcullen to have such an array of amenities," Cllr O'Dwyer says. "However I have heard the message loud and clear over the past few years from young adults that 'if you are not into sport there is nothing to do' ... so I’m absolutely delighted."
She says there is still a lot of work to do with the Council to deliver the facility, but now that funding is not an issue she's looking forward to seeing the project through.
Cllr O'Dwyer says her next such project is explore options to showcase the talents of the many gifted artists and musicians in Kilcullen.
