Two items on the agenda for next week's meeting of Kildare-Newbridge Municipal District relate to street markings in and around Kilcullen, writes Brian Byrne. In a motion, Cllr Tracey O'Dwyer is asking that Kildare County Council refreshes, upgrades and installs new line marking throughout the town of Kilcullen, Mile Mill Junction and Athgarvan.
The councillor also has a question asking the council to confirm if the authority is responsible for refreshing the line markings on the Kilcullen motorway bridge after Thompson's Cross?
Many motorists have commented to the Diary on the poor visibility of worn line markings, particularly coming in from the motorway bridge to Nicholastown, an issue exacerbated in poor winter weather conditions.
