Kildare Jazz Festival dates announced

It's a little bit away, but the dates of the Kildare Jazz Festival are worth putting in your musical diary already, writes Brian Byrne. It will be held at the Riverbank Arts Centre from Friday 4 April through Sunday the 6th.

The weekend will feature music from both well-known and emerging exponents of the jazz genre, and there will also be drumming and dance workshops and performances aimed at the whole family.

Highlight sessions include Camille Bertault and David Helbock, an Afro-Brazilian Dance Workshop with Alessandra Azevedo, the Leopoldo Osio Quintet, a Drumming Workshop with Tom Quinn, Ta Tum Tum! x Ceol Connected, Mark Redmond and the Chris Colloton Trio.

The festival is curated by Kasia Eliasz (pictured above), funded by The Arts Council and supported by Riverbank Arts Centre.

Tickets are individually priced, with day and weekend tickets options available, and can be booked through the Box Office, either in person or by telephone on 045 448327 Monday to Friday 9.30am-5pm (closed for lunch 2-2.30) and Saturday 10am-1pm. Tickets can also be booked 24/7 on www.riverbank.ie subject to €1.50 booking fee per ticket.
