An appeal to motorists using Cnoc na Greine Avenue to both slow down and to stop for crossing children has been made by the CnaG Residents Association, writes Brian Byrne. The motorists are also asked not to park on the avenue while waiting for children coming from school.
In a notice posted on their Facebook page, the association say that a report of a car not stopping while children were waiting to cross to the pedestrian bridge link to the Community Centre and schools 'is very concerning'. Noting that the ramp on the road is there to facilitate pedestrians, they say that motorists should stop for all pedestrians waiting to cross.
The post also says that vehicles are still speeding on the avenue and asks motorists again to slow down.
