Deadline looms for GE24 voter registration

Registration for voting in the upcoming General Election closes on Tuesday next, 12 November. If you have been registered before, do check that you still are on checktheregister.ie.
All those who are 18  or over can register, with first-time voters now able to do so online at checktheregister.ie/en-IE/new-request.
Forms to apply for a postal vote are available on checktheregister.ie. In addition to diplomats, gardaĆ and members of the Defence Forces, people with a disability who are unable to attend a polling station on the day of the vote are entitled to a postal vote. So also are students away from home who are studying somewhere else in the State, and those who, because of their work, won't be able to attend a polling station — people such as airline pilots and long-distance lorry drivers.
Prisoners are also entitled to vote by post. The deadline for postal vote applications is Sunday.
