CPC presenting Aladdin in November

The very first traditional Christmas Panto at CPC will be performed in November at the college, writes Brian Byrne. The show, Aladdin, is being put on by the TY Drama module students and is a change from the usual end of year drama show from the group.
The performances will be on Wednesday 27th and Thursday 28th November 2024 and tickets will be available online or via the school.
Directed by Mary McLaughlin, the students playing the principal characters are Aladdin – Seán Plunkett; Princess Jasmine – Bethany Swaine; Widow Twankey – Zoe Moran; Genie of the Lamp – Harry Davies; Abanazar – Savino Simion; Wishee – Sariah Broughall; Washee – Nicola Pytel; and Zohan (Abanazar’s sidekick) – Eyad Amr.
In all there are 49 students involved in the show, which is part of a Teen programme Mary McLaughlin is developing called “Eyes Up” (as in Eyes Up off the floor, Eyes Up off your screen) which encourages confidence building and bolsters resilience and mental health in teenagers through the medium of comedy drama.
A few rehearsal photographs give a flavour of what's to come.
Booking details: To avail of the Early Bird offer when you buy your tickets online by midnight 8th November, check out and pay for four tickets and one will be added to your collection envelope at the sales desk or at the door on the night.
