Busy week upcoming
Just some reminders for this coming week as we head towards closing down October, writes Brian Byrne. Tomorrow, Tuesday 29th has the family Halloween fun film Hocus Pocus, courtesy of Kilcullen Bridge Cinema. An earlier than usual starting time of 7pm to cater for younger family members.
On Wednesday, Halloween night, there's the opening of an exhibition of paintings of raptors, in the Arts & Culture Centre in McAuley Place in Naas. The artist is retired Newbridge art and design teacher Eamonn J Keenan.
The 31st is also the last day for applications to the Peggy Walker Childcare Bursary 2024, operated by the Kilcullen Community Childcare and Education Centre. Email bursary@kccec.ie for further information.
That last day of October also closes out the chance for nominating local people or organisations for the Kilcullen Community Awards 2024, which are being held on Wednesday 6 November in the Town Hall. If there's someone you figure should be in the mix, a quick click to here will give you the chance.
Finally, on Sunday 3 November, the Kilcullen GAA Kroker Solothon will take place at the club's grounds, where around 500 players from all team ages will gather to complete a 100km solo runs session to raise funds to surface the carpark at the clubhouse. Donations to the cause can be made at this link, where over €32,000 of the €60,000 target has already been raised.
And you thought you could have a relaxing week after the exertions of the bank holiday ...
