Annual Seminar of County Kildare Local History federation

A talk on the political correspondence of John Devoy with the main Fenian leaders, and a digital presentation of Kildare monumental heritage in 3D will both feature at the Annual Seminar of the Kildare Federation of Local History Groups in Kilcullen, writes Brian Byrne. The meeting will be in Kilcullen Heritage Centre on Saturday 19 October, with registration from 9.30am. 

Kill-born Noel Cocoman will discuss selected extracts from Devoy's Post Bag, a collection of John Devoy's correspondence and papers edited by William O'Brien and Desmond Ryan. Graphic designer Sean Sourke will present a selection of the digital photogrammetry 3D models he has created from his photographs of a number of heritage items and buildings around Kildare, including Old Kilcullen and Ballymore.

The event will also include the Federation's AGM.
