Evening of Prayer on St Pio feast day

A special evening of prayer will be held in Kilcullen parish church on Monday 23 September in honour of St Padre Pio, writes Brian Byrne.

A special blessing with a first class relic of St Pio will be given to those in attendance.

The evening begins with Adoration from 5.30pm until 7pm, when there will then be a Mass in celebration of the saint's feast day.

Born Francesco Forgione in Italy in 1887, St Pio joined the Capuchin order at the age of 15. He was marked by stigmata in 1918. He was beatified on 2 May 1999 and canonised on 16 June 2002 by Pope John Paul II.
