Plans mooted for return of St Patrick's Day Parade

The Kildare Filipino community were a very colourful part of the Kilcullen parade in 2019.

Plans are being developed for the return of the St Patrick's Day Parade in Kilcullen, for next year, writes Brian Byrne. The Kilcullen Twinning Committee are seeking support for the event, last held during the Kilcullen 700 celebrations in 2019. 

During that St Patrick's Day weekend, Kilcullen also completed a Twinning agreement with the French town of Saint Contest in Normandy, which sent a large delegation to Kilcullen who thoroughly enjoyed the celebrations of the weekend. A delegation from the town will again be coming for St Patrick's Day next year.

The Kilcullen Twinning Committee is reaching out to the town's business community and social and sporting groups for ideas and help with the organisation of the parade. The Twinning Committee will be organising other events for the French delegations visit.
