Programme for 40th Dunlavin Arts Festval
A reminder that the 40th Dunlavin Arts Festival will be held this week from June 13-16 inclusive, writes Brian Byrne. An enhanced programme of events will include exhibitions, dance, music, and heritage, and a range of activities aimed at children.
A highlight will be the screening of a film An Tobar agus an Chloch (The Well and the Stone) by George Hooker and Rónán Ó Raghallaigh, commissioned for the Festival. For fans of music, a concert by Slovak violinist Anton Jablokov, accompanied by pianist Vincent Lynch, will take place in the serene surroundings of St Nicholas Church of Ireland.
A barbecue on the green, drumming workshops, and a dog show are just a few of the other elements in what should be a very engrossing 40th anniversary festival.
